Half Chaps - great for kids
It can be a huge challenge to get into a sport that you know nothing about. My daughter recently acquired an interest in horseback riding. I wanted to support this interest but didn’t know the first place to start. So, I decided to begin my education by getting familiar with equestrian apparel at one of the local horse tack shops here in NYC. Breeches, helmets, jackets… the list is endless! Thankfully I know how to ask for help when I need it, and the staff at Manhattan Saddlery were quick to educate me on my needs. They asked me a number of questions about my daughter and her needs and goals, and then pointed me in the right direction. Needless to say, I’m happy with the selections. They even helped me pick out a few collectible toys for her – little model horses, and some educational books and DVDs.
Take it from the guy who skipped gym class every other week – you can learn a lot or a little about anything you desire. It’s up to you to find the time and do the research. My daughter is happy that I did!
New iPad 3
Published February 23, 2012 | Planning on getting the new iPad 3, because you think it’s going to have a whole new design? Think again! There’s a rumor going on that a picture of the new iPad was leaked, and that it doesn’t look a whole lot different than the second one. I can’t say anything about the new features it will have, but I’m sure many will be expecting a whole new look. Maybe people are getting tired of their iPad 2, and they are looking for something totally new and different. I’m not so sure they will be able to get that if they do get the new one.
RED WINE SUBSTITUTE

Today I got home late from work. I forgot that I needed to stop by the grocery store to pick up some red wine to cook dinner tonight. I looked on the internet using my Duluth wireless internet service for something to substitute. I promised my husband that we would have beef bourginon tonight. It is his favorite! So anyway, after a few minutes of searching the web, I found a good recipe that didn’t require that you use a whole bottle of red wine! So, the substitute called for me to use three cups of grape juice and a cup of beef broth. I was a little skeptical, but cooked the dish like I cook it every time. I was surprised when I pulled the dish from the oven three hours later. It was wonderful! I think that it was even better than it was before. My husband was really pleased. I didn’t tell him that I cooked it the other way. I wanted to see if he could tell the difference. He was totally fooled! I think I may start using grape juice from now on, it would be less expensive!
Tracking Down Cell Phone Location
Published February 23, 2012 | I recently heard that in one town known as Fort Worth, police will be able to be able to locate where a cell phone is being used. Not only will they be able to do so, but they will be able to do it without permission from the cell phone carrier. Many responded to this by saying that they don’t think this is right, because it’s a way of invading one’s privacy. I’m actually split about this myself. One part of me says that it is indeed a way to get our privacy taken away from us, and we shouldn’t be able to literally be tracked down. However, another part of me says that this could be used in emergency situations. If someone were to be missing, police will be able to find that person much quicker than they can any other way. I’m not going to say I’m totally for it, but I think people need to think about the positive side as well.

Published February 17, 2012 | Well I guess I can say I finally gave it and bought a Kindle. I really thought I wasn’t going to, because I tend to be old school when it comes to technology. I thought that I would always prefer to actually have a book or magazine in front of me, where I can literally turn the pages. That is until almost all of my friends got one, and they made me realize that it would probably be a good idea to get one. I’m on the train almost every day, and my commute is about two hours each day. Now sitting on the train doing nothing can seriously get boring, so I used to bring a bunch of magazines or books. Now I’m the type of reader who doesn’t read one book at a time. I like to have a variety when I read, so I ended up bringing four books on the train with me on my commute. This was getting pretty annoying, and I definitely got some stares. I guess it did look a little odd, that I was carrying a bunch of books. Some random lady on the train even tried to sell me her Kindle, because she could see that I really needed one.
Things are much easier on my commute these days, as I’m not lugging around heavy books. I pick up my Kindle (which is very light and easy to carry), and start my morning commute. Looking back, I really don’t know how I commuted for so long without a Kindle. And back to what I was saying about worrying about not liking the fact that I can’t literally turn the page. I honestly forgot about that, and I don’t even think about it. I guess another reason why I thought that I shouldn’t even bother getting a Kindle, is because I thought that getting one would just be too expensive.
